It was a much larger group with 24 adults this time.
With the inclusion of a dentistry student, a denturist and Brent’s usual team, the dental clinic was going full bore. A lot of teeth got fixed and replaced.
Three nurses, a Winnipeg doctor and a pharmacist worked with Dr. Reg for a truly awe-inspiring week of medical work covering many of the smaller villages in the Puerto Plata area.
With our increased numbers, we were able to construct 2 homes for deserving families. One of the sites was quite far removed from any access road so that all materials had to be hauled in by hand; a tiring procedure but worthwhile when we could see the joy on the faces of the family who will have a new home.
Once again we went to Ascension to assist in the feeding program. For some of the children in that village, the meals they get 3 times a week at this program may be their only food.
