When you donate to Shine The Light, your money will go towards:

• Employing teachers and providing materials for our current Community Centre Projects

• Contributing towards the build of a new home for a family in great need

In Canada, we are so blessed with homes that shield us from the elements. In the village of El Javillar, they aren’t as fortunate. Locals often cannot afford to build secure houses, meaning their homes get flooded each time it rains. These circumstances can lead to the rapid spread of illnesses, meaning much of their money is spent on healthcare instead of improving their housing situation. This creates a never-ending cycle that is difficult for many Dominicans to break.

Your donation puts an end to this cycle by building safe houses which protect the Dominicans, and providing job training that gives them the income they need to support their families. We believe that ending poverty begins with a helping hand, and ends when you have the honour of letting go. Help us make El Javillar a self-sustaining community by donating today.
