The second trip of the year and the third to our new location in Javillar, Puerto Plata, DR was a resounding success. Not only did our 33 participants come together to see 100’s in the medical clinic and build two brand new homes for deserving recipients in Javillar, we saw the continuation of our sustainable job training with Charity from Just Breathe Aesthetics. Charity was the first to begin our job training last May 2014 with six women, teaching them the basics of manicures and pedicures. A year later, her class size doubled to twelve women and she was able to further mentor the initial group of women and journey with them en route to success. We also officially began our foray into our STLI Child Sponsorship Program. Joining forces with our friends, Phil and Karen Klassen and Harvest Field Ministries, we hope to make a great impact in Javillar and all over Puerto Plata.
