Dominican December 2025

This trip saw us reach a monumental milestone for Shine the Light, with us building our 99th and 100th homes for 2 more wonderful families. When we were deciding whether or not to build 1 or 2 homes this trip, our minds were made up with a last-minute addition of an amazing family of 4 from Halifax. With the addition of 4 more volunteers and the influx of financial support from 2 of our wonderful participating families, it was clear that we would reach our goal of building our 100th home in 2025.

We had a trip comprised of 5 families and quickly saw this group gel. The homes were built in a record amount of time. There was a profound beautify in these two homes standing side-by-side: One built by parents for Carlos, the father, and the other built by the children of those very volunteers for Carlos's son and family!
