The trip becomes a little more of a family affair as Trevor was accompanied by his wife and three children, Rod brought his daughter, Bethany and of course Jonah and Isaiah were with us.
We had the pleasure of two newly minted nurses who joined Dr. Reg to provide medical services in the outlying areas.
Brent ran his usual highly successful dental clinic, changing location to the second floor of the school and church. For the first time, the dental team was able to do some implants.
We were able to construct a home for a local pastor, his wife and their five children. We built it just behind the church where he shepherds his charges. At the home dedication each member of the family spoke giving their thanks to the Lord and to our group. Sometimes at the dedication, one is hard-pressed to find a dry eye.
We all made the trip to Ascension and once again, it was rewarding to be involved and at the same time instructional to be reminded of all that we have and how it compares to how others must lead their lives. We are always reminded of the expression: “Some people’s prayers are for that which we take for granted”.
