We also had marriage councillors from Winnipeg who helped enhance and restore many marriages down here. We also brought donated grad dresses and our photographer down to capture several girls’ 15th birthdays called a Quinceañera (which is huge in many Spanish speaking countries).The trip also included cooking side-by-side with locals in their own homes (Kitchen Encounters), held a children’s program for 72 li’l Dominicans and in the second week, and we set up some makeshift dental clinics for the staff at the resort at which we were staying.When the group returned to Canada, Wendy and I started planning the next couple of trips with our employee, William from here. This included planning the programs that will begin in our new community centre, which we built 3 months prior.
